On Friday April 21 Edna Josephson celebrated her 100th birthday during C.F.S.' Sabbath Eve Dinner. "Till 120!"

Once again, Dr. Gerry Friedman prepares fresh horseradish sauce (chrain) for our C.F.S. 2nd Night Seder. Abigayl and Danielle practice their matzvah making skills during C.F.S. Youth Education with the Rabbi. This year we welcomed 175 participants to our free Seder that was open to all. (The menu included gefilte fish, Lee Pavel's brisket, Melinda Moor's chicken, Steve Starr's roasted potatoes and vegetables, home-baked macaroons (Laurie McConville Laurie Starr) and Passover chocolate chip cookies (Kelly Schwartz and John Introcelli) and lots of haroset from Joann Cristea. Community Coordinator Natalie Fulton and Student Rabbi Terri Goldberg handled the organizing and reservation. Thanks to Drs. David Heligman, Alan Tanenbaum, Larry Salberg, to Fort Myers Memorial Garden's Donnell Sullivan and to Steve Fox for helping with the cost of the provisions, and to the dozens of C.F.S.ers who helped in the kitchen and setting the tables!

Cantor Richard prepares to lead us in a "Halleluyah" during our Community Seder.

Now in its 12th year, The Community Free Synagogue is a new and progressive model for the 21st century American synagogue guided by Rabbi Bruce Diamond, D.D., a noted community leader, scholar and master teacher.  C.F.S. does not sell memberships tickets or set fees for any of its many programs and events.  The synagogue is an open community resource whose mission is prayer, study and benevolent acts. The synagogue is comfortably supported through a spirit of volunteerism and by the generosity of the hundreds of households that make C.F.S. their congregational home. All of its programs and events, including youth Hebrew and Jewish education, are open to all without fees or solicitations.
