February Adult Education:
"Exploring the Roots of European Anti-Semitism through Primary Sources"
The Community Free Synagogue will offer "mini-course" on European anti-Semitism before World War II from 6:30-8:00 PM Sundays February 12, 19 and 26 in its Community Hall.
The 3 week class, taught by Holocaust and Modern European Historian Jessica Evers, focuses on virulent, wide-spread European Jew hating from the 19th Century through the Holocaust. Evers will help the students examine an anti-Semitism throughout Europe and America with longer and deeper roots than just in Germany and its undertones that still resonate even today.
The course is free and open to all.
Hebrew Reading Fluency Labs 5:00-6:30 PM Sundays February 12, 19 and 26 in the Community Hall
Practice and strengthen your prayer book Hebrew reading skills. When you complete these classes, you'll be offered an opportunity to learn how to read 3 verses out of the Torah for Friday evening or Sabbath morning worship. These labs are intended for persons with very basic Hebrew reading skills.

Now in its 12th year, The Community Free Synagogue is a new and progressive model for the 21st century American synagogue guided by Rabbi Bruce Diamond, D.D., a noted community leader, scholar and master teacher. C.F.S. does not sell memberships tickets or set fees for any of its many programs and events. The synagogue is an open community resource whose mission is prayer, study and benevolent acts. The synagogue is comfortably supported through a spirit of volunteerism and by the generosity of the hundreds of households that make C.F.S. their congregational home. All of its programs and events, including youth Hebrew and Jewish education, are open to all without fees or solicitations.
"The world is supported by 3 things: Learning, Worship and Acts of kindness." (Avot 1:2)
